New songs!!!

I just finished mixing two songs for my band TIRED TREE.
TIRED TREE, consists of me on the vocals, guitars, percussion and keys, and Peter Uvén on bass.
Peter did a tremendous job on the song "Det kryper i kroppen" with his upright bass. Too bad we didn't have alot of time to experiment with different mic positions. But we can do that the next time.

"Det kryper i kroppen" is a song in swedish about curious people who like to observe their neighbours from a safe distance behind the curtains of their home. I know it's a wicked lyric, but I liked the idea.

"Harbour of my dreams" is a instrumental track, well at least partly instrumental. I put down a little choir part at the end of the song. The song was actually written in 2005 but I thought it was a proper song to re-record.
Me and Uvén recorded the acoustic guitar and acoustic bass live with just two overhead microphones in the first take.
We wanted to catch the vibe and nerve that you only get with live performances. Hope you like it too, so please comment the songs when you have listened to them!

Please also comment my art works if you like them (or not), or if you have suggestions of some new super artworks I could try to make. =)
In other words: Write some comments!!!

Songwriting

The last two weeks has been really productive. And I've got
sketches for 3 new songs. =)

Maybe it's the vibe of soon getting to know our upcoming familymember. =)

I've also manage to format the computer I use for the music productions. As usual it takes forever to install all the applications etc. after the format, fortunately I have a 250 GB internal & 500 GB external drive where all my samples are located from the East West libraries. So I didn't have to go through the 25+ DVD installations again (woooo...that was really a blast)

You will hear the demos for the songs on this page in a near future. It's proggy, creative and constructive stuff with solid melodies.

Over'n out!

Tired Tree reviews

Just thought I should add some links to old reviews of my music.

Review nr 1: Tired Tree "Changing sides" review by DURP

Review nr 2:

THE TIRED TREE 'THE TIRED TREE' (DEMO CDR)
The CD of THE TIRED TREE is a very well produced progressive AOR album in the style of IQ and JADIS. The instruments are played very well and most of the songs sound pretty good. This is a must for fans of mentioned progressive AOR bands. And to make it even more exciting, this is not a band, because one man has done everything. His name is Mattias Holmgren and he comes out of Sweden and is only 23 years old. I guess you can say that we have to deal here with a very talented young person who is already looking at a bright future ahead of him. It wouldn't surprise me if some progressive label would sign him pretty soon. The Demo CDR he sent me features 7 songs.

The CDR starts with the calmer progressive semi ballad "Returned to leave" that has a real IQ/JADIS feeling. Some great keyboardwork can be heard in the next song "The tired tree", this is a good semi progressive AOR rocker. "Leaving without a reason" and "Vipe away" are two keyboard based progressive ballads. "Final chime" is the best song included on the album. This is a mid 80s typed progressive AOR song with good hooks and harmonies. "More than a story" is another JADIS typed song. The closing track is the instrumental "The arrival of Sophie".

JADIS/IQ fans should check out Mattias' music at: http://www.tiredtree.se and e-mail him at: tiredtree@gmail.com.
